Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis
Analysis of drugs and pharmaceutical formulations is the backbone ofresearch and development in pharmaceutical industry. The department focuses on training the graduate and post graduate students on how to use the modern and newer instrumental analytical techniques such UPLC, HPLC, GC, FTIR, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, UV-Visible Spectroscopy, Fluorimetry, Flame photometry etc.
Special emphasis is laid on the implementation of good laboratory practices and analytical skills. The department has all the features to get recognized as center for research by the university, which is under process. The department is actively involved in developing new analytical methods and their validation, characterization and quantitative estimation of possible impurities in various dosage forms.
The Department has collaborated with leading pharmaceutical companies for projects in analytical method development and manufacturing process validation. This fruitful collaboration has resulted in generating invaluable information and data that has been published in national and international journals and papers.
Areas of Research: Development and validation of new analytical methods by using HPLC, HPTLC, LC-MS, Spectrofluorimetric and Spectrophotometric Techniques. Encouraging the Ph.D students to use our facilities to generate more number of publications and applying project proposals for Govt. funding agencies. MOUs are developed with Universities and / or Industries at National and International level. Design new experiments/techniques in Analytical Chemistry with available instruments. Train the PG students with new subjects like Regulatory affairs / Pharmacovigilance etc.
Further, several papers have been published in various journals and presentations have been made by Faculty and PG Students of the Department. Strengthen the instrumentation facilities, Participating in national and international seminars/conferences/workshops and symposiums related to Analytical chemistry/Quality Assurance and / or Regulatory Affairs and Initiation of Group discussions related to current research areas/scenario of analytical techniques developed world wide.
